Years ago I set out on a journey for the ultimate cup of coffee. Over time I learned that many factors contribute to cup quality and eventually this goal was achieved. All of a sudden flavors and experiences I never had before became such an exciting part of every day and soon I shared these coffees with friends, family and coworkers. One day at work it hit me. Coffee was my new career. I fine tuned my craft more and more, learning as much as possible along the way. A following began to develop and I decided it was time to share these great coffees with the public. I started Riverview Coffee Roasters and delivered my selections throughout local neighborhoods. Now you can get these coffees throughout the U.S., Shipped to your doorstep straight from the roaster . Try it. You'll taste and feel the difference.

I carry a variety of premium, naturally grown coffees that are craft roasted and delivered at peak freshness. In this day and age, coffee is rarely sold when it's truly fresh. True freshness is measured in hours and days, not weeks and months. I aim to bring that freshness to you. When you purchase selections from Riverview, they're roasted to order and shipped out or delivered withion a day, allowing you to enjoy them at their max potential.

Each selection on the menu is carefully chosen from the top coffees produced in the world. 99% of the time coffee is just coffee, but there's that 1% of the time that you find something special. I don't just choose a selection from a well known country. I look to a specific region with specific conditions, including altitude, soil, climate, surrounding habitat, processing methods and so on, then narrow it down to the best of the best. There are a number of factors that contribute to finding the perfect storm for creating an excellent cup. This painstaking process leads to unique flavor profiles and refined character in the cup.

At Riverview Coffee, computers aren't used to do a set it and forget it method of roasting. Every micro batch is craft roasted, which requires using one's senses to bring out each coffee's individual qualities.

After roasting, they're tasted in a process called cupping. Hot water is steeped with grounds in a small cup. A crust forms and after a few minutes, the crust is broken to reveal the true flavor. After grinding, I smell the grounds to check the bouquet, then once the water is applied, smell again for aroma, after that the grounds are removed and each cup is slurped with a spoon to check the flavor profile. Then, each selection is given a description to best pass on an idea of what flavor profile the drinker will be getting. Some flavors are subtle and others are more obvious.

Brewing and freshness have a large impact on the results and flavors are best recognized after the cup has cooled to mouth temperature. You may notice that fresh, craft roasted coffee will exhibit different characteristics from day to day. This makes every day's cup a moment to look forward to.

This passionate process is a constant pursuit of perfection, always acting as a moving target and keeping the job interesting. Behind the scenes, day and night the process is always in progression and things are constantly changing. This is a brief description of some of the care I put into my selections and I hope you enjoy the results.
