A Profound Expression of Terroir

The fragrance unveils a captivating array of fruit tones, a prelude to the dark, rustic fruit notes that unfold in the cup. Upon infusion, the aromatic complexity deepens, revealing intense wine-like fruit accents alongside the richness of fig butter, all elegantly woven into a bittersweet structure.

On the palate, the fruit character presents a layered intensity—ripe, wine-toned, and deeply complex. A citrus rind nuance emerges, lending a tactile quality to the mouthfeel and an impression of brightness, though the underlying acidity remains restrained. The finish is evocative of pulpy stone fruits, with whispers of fermented apricot and a refined tobacco note that imparts an earthy depth. While delicate berry undertones flicker in the background, it is the profound cocoa-driven structure that defines the coffee’s core.

With an opulent, velvety body, this selection offers remarkable versatility—its richness and balance translate seamlessly into both a distinguished single-origin espresso and a captivating brewed experience, showcasing the unmistakable grandeur of its origin.

Farm Notes

A Terroir of Elevation and Innovation

Nestled in the highlands of Chirinos, Alto Pirias represents the pinnacle of coffee cultivation in the region, sitting at 1800 to 1900 meters above sea level. This dramatic landscape, shaped by rolling peaks and the convergence of diverse microclimates, provides an ideal environment for cultivating coffee of exceptional depth and complexity.

A new generation of forward-thinking producers has emerged in Alto Pirias, bringing an innovative approach to sustainable farming. With an emphasis on soil regeneration, these farmers employ a meticulous balance of organic and select synthetic fertilizers, enhancing microbial vitality, optimizing productivity, and ensuring the long-term health of their coffee trees.

This selection is a meticulously curated blend of dry-process lots, reflecting the region’s traditional yet refined approach to post-harvest processing. Whole cherries are dried for up to 30 days, allowing the coffee to develop remarkable fruit intensity and textural depth. Once fully dried, the coffee is carefully stored in polyethylene bags to preserve freshness before making its way to the dry mill for final sorting.

The dry-process method is renowned for yielding bold fruit expression, sumptuous body, and a softened acidity, all of which are beautifully realized in this extraordinary lot. A testament to the dedication and precision of its producers, Alto Pirias stands as one of the most compelling expressions of high-altitude Peruvian coffee.
